Every spring, Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications holds an event in which the Advertising and Public Relations Departments’ graduating seniors present their work to a network of employers in a career fair-style via Zoom and web portfolios. I was honored to join the team for the 2022 Showcase, where we developed “Choose Your Player,” a pixelated world inspired by the Golden Age of arcade games that gave our seniors a way to show off their stats. Given that both academic and professional communications are transitioning to a more digital platform, we felt this would be the perfect way to blend the in-person fairs of the past with our new digital landscape.

Each of the concentrations within the Advertising program (account management, public relations, copywriting, media planning, brand strategy & research, and art direction) were represented by a unique “level,” encouraging visitors to play along with us as they search for the right player for their team.
